These terms apply when you use Plinth to build and publish websites. They’re written to be read. By creating an account you agree to them.
The person running this Plinth hasn’t filled in their name, postal address, contact email yet.
The operator of this Plinth
Plinth is currently free and open by invitation only.
What you put into Plinth (text, photos, settings) stays yours. You allow us to store it, process it and publish it as far as needed to run Plinth for you, for example to show it in the editor, to send text to the AI when you ask, and to serve your published site. You confirm that you have the right to use everything you upload or publish.
Don’t use Plinth to publish or send anything that:
Also don’t try to get around Plinth’s limits, get into other people’s accounts, or overload the service.
Plinth can write and rewrite text with AI. AI makes mistakes, so check everything before you publish it. Plinth marks details it couldn’t know, such as prices or reviews, with [brackets] for you to fill in. What you publish is your responsibility.
You’re responsible for your website meeting the rules that apply to it, for example a legal notice (an “Impressum” in Germany and Austria), consumer law and data protection law. Plinth gives every site a privacy notice based on how Plinth works. It’s a starting point that you should check, not legal advice.
For the personal data of your website’s visitors, such as contact-form messages and booking requests, you are the controller and we process it on your behalf (Article 28 GDPR). For that data we:
If a site or account breaks these terms or the law, we can take the site offline or suspend the account. We’ll normally tell you first and give you a chance to fix it, unless the problem is serious or urgent, such as a scam page.
We work to keep Plinth running and your data safe, but because it’s free we can’t promise it will always be available. We may change or stop features. If we ever stop Plinth altogether, we’ll tell you at least 30 days before, so you can download your data and move your sites. Every site can be exported as plain files that work on any web host.
We’re fully liable for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and wherever the law doesn’t allow liability to be limited. Otherwise, for slight negligence we’re liable only if we breach an obligation that’s essential to the service, and only for damage that was foreseeable and typical for this kind of service.
You can delete your account at any time on the account page. We can close an account with 30 days’ notice, or straight away for a serious breach of these terms.
We’ll email you at least 30 days before an important change. If you don’t want to accept it, you can delete your account before it takes effect.
